dc.description.abstract | Introduction : Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a thrombus in lower extremity vein. Diagnosis
is done by using venography or USG Compression. However, this examination is not available in
all health facility. Thus, there are many scoring system developed for diagnosing DVT. This
scoring method is practical and safe beside efficacy, and effectiveness in term of treatment and
cost. Example of scoring system available are Wells score and Caprini score. Many Research on
evaluating accuracy from different scoring systems have been carried out; however not in
Medan. Due to this reason, we are interested in evaluating the accuracy from different scoring
system with the popular generation in Medan.
Method: This research is tested for a diagnostic test towards scoring system in predicting DVT
risks which is done as observational and analytic. Research has been carried out in H. Adam
Malik Hospital located in Medan city.
Result: 72 subjects consisting of Male, 39 people (54,2%) in age range 53,24 years old has been
obtained. Wells score 2::3 have sensitivity, specifity and accuracy continuously 80,6%, 80,6% and
87,5%, meanwhile Caprini score 2::5 sensitivity, specifity and accuracy continuously 66,7%,
61,1% and 64,3%.
Conclusion: Wells score have higher accuracy than Caprini score | en_US |
