The combination of the seed extract of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) and DMPA is one alternative to the expected safe and reversible male contraceptive agent. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content of the seed extract of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) and its combination with the effect of DMPA on the lipid profile and coronary artery wall thickness. The study used male rats of wistar strain as much as 30 individuals were divided into 5 groups of control (K0, K1, K2, K3, K4) and the 5 treatment groups (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4). Control and treatment gruped based on the length of time in a row 0 weeks, 4 weeks, 12 weeks (8 weeks oral feed + 4 weeks of recovery), 16 weeks (8 weeks oral feed 8 weeks of recovery). The control group was injected with 0.1 ml aquabidestila and gave 0.5 ml aquadest per oral. The treatment group was injected as much as 1.25 mg DMPA at the beginning of treatment and gave 50 mg / 100 g bw bitter melon extract, data obtained were tested using independent sample analysis Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney. The results showed that the extract of bitter melon seeds contain triterpenoids, steroids, alkaloids, saponins and based statistically significant difference (P> 0.05) not found on total cholesterol, LDL triglycerides, heart weight, a significant difference (P<0.05) found in HDL and coronary artery thickness but the difference does not lie between PO-KO, P1- K1, P2-K2, K3 P3, and P4-K4.
