Descriptive qualitative method is employed and in-depth interviews are conducted with key informants of online game players and ordinary informants, namely Coffee shop observers and visitors who often witness the behavior of online game players in the coffee shops. The results of the research make it clear that online game players engage in verbal violence in coffee shops. Verbal violent behavior is triggered by the inculcation of norms in the family, stress in online game players resulted from lack of sleep and food, problems during game playing, expressive behavior, imitation of rude behavior of game influencers such as YouTubers, etc. and other adult players and opponents who come from areas with a culture of rudeness. It is hoped that this research will be a reference for understanding the behavior of online game players who engage in verbal violence, such that policies are viewed as a form of social control.
