The increasing poverty rate in North Sumatra can be mitigated after two years of Covid-19. The poverty rate for North Sumatra is ranked 18th nationally in 2021. The problem for the government is to determine which regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province are categorized as poor. Determining the poverty level is very important because it influences policy and program support in the region. The method of determining the poverty level used in this study uses the TOPSIS methods. The criteria taken include the Percentage of Poor Population, Poverty Depth Index, Poverty Severity Index, Poverty Line and Gini Ratio. The 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province are alternatives. The results obtained from the research that the TOPSIS methods found that, in 2021, 5 districts/cities with the highest poverty rates were obtained, namely North Nias, West Nias, Gunungsitoli, Sibolga and South Nias. And in 2022, 5 districts/cities that have the highest poverty rates will be obtained, namely North Nias, West Nias, Gunungsitoli, Nias and South Niasen_US
