dc.description.abstract | As a health service, hospitals must pay attention to the quality of service,
especially services by nurses. The most important part of the Medan Adventist Hospital
service is the nurse service that is responsible for improving the performance of
hospital services. If supported by a good work system, maintenance services will run
smoothly. According to observations, the scheduling of nurses at Medan Adventist
Hospital is still done in a simple way. In the schedule made by the hospital, there are
many deviations from the regulations made by the hospital, such as non-optimal
working hours, irregular working day patterns and an uneven number of shifts in each
nurse. To solve problems that have several goals, Goal Programming is a technique
worth using. Goal Programming aims to minimize deviations from goals with multiple
goals to be optimal based on the constraints that exist in the problem of scheduling
nurses that are less effective and efficient. Based on the results of the discussion, there
are three goals to be achieved. The first goal is that each nurse has a total of 160
working hours during one work period (28 days), the second goal is for each nurse to
avoid the holiday-in-holiday work pattern and the third goal is that each nurse gets at
least 21 work shifts in one work period. Based on research on the results of nurse
scheduling with the Goal Programming Method is able to show no deviations, the three
goals to be achieved can be fulfilled as described in the results and discussion section.
The results of scheduling nurses using LINGO software get optimal results because
all goal constraints have been met. | en_US |
