The Advent Medan Hospital as a health service must pay attention to the
quality of service, including pharmaceutical services. Pharmaceutical services are the
provision of medicines for patients to improve their quality of life directly and
responsibly. The observations revealed that the average waiting time was 45 minutes,
or 0.7652 hours during which patients spent a long time in the system. As a result, the
hospital's queuing system was disrupted. This study aims to study the Hospital's efforts
in reducing the time spent queuing. One solution to this problem is to use ARENA 16.0
software to simulate an analysis of service system queuing theory using the First In
First Out (FIFO) discipline. From the observations, the average waiting time was
0.7652 hours or 45 minutes and the utility rate or rush rate was 97.42%. As a result,
simulation models are created with suggestions for improvement. The scenario chosen
was scenario 3 which involved the addition of three workers to be in charge of the
drug manufacturing process. The simulation results showed that the average waiting
time was 0.0847 hours or 5 minutes, and the utility or rush rate was 75.08%, showing
a significant difference. In addition, the number of patients who come and leave is the
same, ensuring that all customers can be served. In scenario 3, the server is not busy
so that the service can be fast and good, making patients happy and the service can be
said to be optimal.
