This Study purposes to make a water heater prototype that works automatically
according to instruction from the user. The used rice cooker is used as a water
container as well as a source of heat. This prototype water heater uses a Type-K
Thermocouple Sensor, ESP32, and Android application. The water heater prototype
was built using Firebase as a link between ESP32 and the Android application. User
will input the maximum temperature and maximum duration for heating objects and
both of them will be sent to Firebase. When ESP32 finds a change in temperature
and duration input in Firebase, ESP32 will start turning on the heater by giving
signal 1 to the relay which will conduct 220V AC electricity to the heater, then the
heater will produce heat until it matches the input temperature from the user. The
android application will start issuing heating start times and estimates when the
input temperature of the heated object is the same as the input temperature. SP32
will give a 1 or 0 signal to the relay to adjust the heat generated so that the heated
object remains at the input temperature. The temperature obtained from the infrared
thermometer will be displayed in real-time by the Android application. When the
duration is up, Android will send a trigger in the form of the number 0 to Firebase
which will be accessed by ESP32, then ESP32 will turn off the heater by sending a
0 signal to the relay. The result of this test is the creation of an automatic heating
system that can work like a smart water heater in general that can be controlled via
Android. This research is also expected to be implemented in human’s daily, so that
it can make it easier for humans to heat plant water and other liquids that can be
consumed.
