Children of Preschool age is a perfect period for the nanny or parents to encourage and develop their early reading skill. Alphabet picture card is a media that can be used to increase the children's early reading skill faster because they can recognize the shape of the letters, colors, words, et cetera. Thus, they can develop their skill Therefore, the researcher is interested in conducting research on the effects of alphabet picture card media on the early reading skill of preschool children. The research aims to identify the effects of alphabet picture card media on the early reading skill of preschool children in Parmiyatu Wassa'adah Kindergarten, Deliserdang Regency. This quantitative research is pre-experimental research that uses One Group Pretest- Posttest Design. This research only uses one group without the comparison group. 45 pre-school students in Parmiyatu Wassa'adah Kindergarten are taken as samples and the research instruments are a demographic data questionnaire, observation sheet, and alphabet picture cards. The result indicates that there is an increase in early reading skill in pre-school students based on the assessment category for early reading skills. Before using the alphabet picture cards, it is found that 25 children (55.6%) are in the category of starting to develop. After using the alphabet pictures cards, this number increases to 40 children (88.9%) and in the category of developing very well with a significant value (0,000). It can be concluded that the use of alphabet picture cards affects the pr-school early reading skill in Parmiyatu Wassa'adah Kindergarten, Deliserdang Regency. It is expected that the result and media used in this research can be applied and used in nursing care and as a reference for further research.
