Hemodialysis, the most popular renal function replacement thera py, is a form of
therapy in which patients are stimulated with pain. One the moment is during the
cannulation. It is believed that dhikr meditation is thought to be one method/or easing pain.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to ascertain how dhikr meditation affects the
level of pain that hemodialysis patients in Rasyida Renal Care Hospital experience. This
quasi-experimental of one group pretest and posttest with control group employs 20
hemodialysis patients at the Rasyida Special Renal Hospital in Medan who selected by using
the non-probability selection method of purposive sampling. Mann-Whitney U test is carried out to
analyze the data. The result of this study finds that 60% of respondents in the intervention
group report having moderate pain, 30% report having mild pain, and J0% report having no pain at
all. In contrast, 20% of the control group reports having severe pain, 25% report mild pain,
and 55% report moderate pain. The majority of respondents (80%) experience significant
pain following the therapy, with little
discomfort (10%) and light pain (10%) following. The Mann-Whitney U analysis indicates a
significance level of p value = 0.004 for the data.
Respondents affirm that after hemodia/ysis therapy combined with dhikr relaxation techniques,
they experience a significant amount of psychological and physiological
changes. They claim to feel more secure and at peace, and their congestion and edema are
getting better. Finally, if can be said that dhikr meditation reduces the amount of
suffering that hemodialysis patients at Rasyida Kidney Hospital Medan experience.
