School-age children are children aged 7-12 years and will experience puberty marked by the maturity of the reproductive organs, one of which is the occurrence of menstruation for the first time, called menarche. Lack of knowledge about menarche and how to maintain reproductive health after menarche will affect their preparation to face menarche and maintain their reproductive health after menarche. Therefore, efforts and innovations are required to increase their knowledge, one of which is the provision of health education. The objective of this research is to determine effect of health education on the level of knowledge in dealing with menarche and how to maintain reproductive health after menarche in school-age children at SDN (State Elementary School) 106209 Sukaramal, Sei Rampah Sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency. This is a Quasi Experimental research with One Group Pretest and Postfest, using total sampling technique. The sample in this research is 36 respondents. The data analysis results using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test on the knowledge variable in dealing with menarche obtained a value of p=0.000 (p< 0.05) while the variable how to maintain reproductive health after menarche obtained a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that there is an effect of health education on the level of knowledge in dealing with menarche and how to maintain reproductive health after menarche in school-age children at SDN 106209 Sukaramai, Sei Rampah Sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency. It is suggested to the school to keep socializing and collaborating with classroom teachers in providing health education to develop knowledge and readiness to face puberty in school-age children.
