Tourism is a sector of the economy that makes use of the environment, local
culture, and other resources. If effectively handled, tourism can strengthen a
region's economic base. The natural tourism region surrounding the Meat Geosite
is the natural potential that is currently being developed. The growth of tourism in
the Meat Geosite region undoubtedly has both beneficial and bad effects,
depending on how well it is planned. The purpose of this study is to identify the
carrying capacity and development plan for sustainable natural tourism in the
area surrounding Geosite Meat. The stage of this research method is to analyze
the capacity of the area to the visiting population as a tourist carrying capacity,
namely PCC, RCC and ECC. The next stage is to analyze tourism development
strategies using SWOT. Based on the results of the carrying capacity calculation,
PCC values were obtained 4,823 people / day, RCC 1,542 people / day and ECC
1,340 people / day. Based on these calculations, the number of visits in the Meat
Geosite area has not been met when compared to the average last visit in 2022,
meaning that the number of visitors can be increased while still paying attention
to the threshold so that the tourist attraction area remains sustainable and
economically profitable. The value of the internal factor score of 1.73 and
external 1.35 based on the score value obtained the position of the results of the
SWOT analysis in quadrant I, namely the Strength / Opportunity (SO) strategy,
namely utilizing natural scenery to increase the number of tourist visits, managing
the potential of tourist attraction areas.
