Abstract

Forest clearing with the aim of land conversion results in the loss of most forest land cover, which over time can increase the extinction rate for many animal and plant species. Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) is an alternative to use forests without clearing forests completely, but also provides benefits to the communities around the forest. NTFP are native forest products other than wood taken from forests planted with agroforestry schemes. Agarwood is a NTFP commodity with great potential if developed and utilized optimally. This study aims to analyze farm income, analyze farm feasibility, and analyze the contribution value of Aquilaria spp. farmers' income, in the Kemagahan Forest Farmer Group, Bahorok District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The analytical methods used are income analysis and business feasibility analysis with the provisions of the criteria of Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP) as a reference for feasibility assessment, as well as the analysis of the contribution of farmers' income. The results of the income analysis showed that the total cost of Rp 1,031,851,950 and total revenue of Rp 2,013,935,000 during 2005-2022 resulted in a total income of Rp 982,083,050. The results of the business feasibility analysis in the form of NPV with a value of Rp 506,173,192, Net B / C Ratio worth 1.5, IRR value of 5.83%, and PP 12.9 years, so it can be concluded that the business is in the feasible category. The contribution value of the agarwood farming sector of 17% of the total income of farmers shows that the agarwood farming sector in the Kemagahan Forest Farmer Group is in a very low category
