Food Estate by applying the concept of industrial agriculture based on
knowledge and technology in areas that have the potential to be used as food
reserves. Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is a tool that can convert solar radiation into
electrical energy. As in this study the aim is to utilize the energy needs of solar
panels at food esate in Huta Julu Village. This research was conducted in Huta
Julu Village, Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan District, North Sumatra
Province. First, a field survey was carried out, then collecting data on air
temperature and solar radiation and recording all electricity demand data at each
station in the Food Estate so that an estimate of the analysis of the energy needs
of the solar panels needed in the manufacture of PLTS could be made. Air
temperature and solar radiation greatly affect the efficiency of the absorption of
solar panels, at the time of research the air temperature ranged from 21°C - 28°C
and solar radiation of 10 MJ/m2
– 30 MJ/m2
showed little absorption of solar
panel energy due to extreme climates or seasons. transition. From the electric
power requirements needed at the Huta Julu Food Estate, it is estimated that the
total panels used are around 103 units with a capacity of 200WP (Watt Peak) and
as energy reserves, around 89 batteries are needed with a capacity of 12v 100 Ah.
