dc.description.abstractLetters are an important and useful source of data and information for the progress of an organization or government institution. Letters are also referred to as the heart of an office. Correspondence is still needed and as proof of black and white documents so that the position of letters is very important even though technology is developing. Doing correspondence activities really requires expertise, knowledge and skills. Therefore, it is necessary to make a good letter, starting from drafting the letter, typing, duplicating, distributing it to the recipient of the letter in an appropriate and fast way. So the purpose of this study is to find out how the filing system for incoming and outgoing letters in the Administrative Office of the Attorney General's Office North Sumatra Height This type of research is taken with a qualitative approach and data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation.The results of the study show that (1) the incoming and outgoing letter filing system for the administration of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office uses two filing systems, namely electronic with the SIPEDE application and a manual filing system (2) The incoming letter recording stage still requires an agenda book to record incoming letters originating from outside KEJATISU and inputting it back into the SIPEDE application. Meanwhile, the recording stage for outgoing letters is still the same as recording the letter number into the agenda book and inputting it back into the SIPEDE application. (3) All stages of the filing system for incoming and outgoing letters in the administrative field of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office are running well. The conclusion of this study is that the filing system in the Administrative Field of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office uses a manual and electronic filing system using the SIPEDE application. Archive handling is carried out directly by each field in the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office.Archive storage in the Administrative Room of the High Court of Sumatra uses an alphabetical system and a number system that is determined based on the Fields in the KEJATI.en_US
