Analisa Kadar Zat Menguap (Volatile Matter) dalam Crumb Rubber Mutu SIR 20 di PT Rubber Hock Lie Sunggal

Abstract

Analysis of volatile substances has been carried out on crumb rubber at PT Rubber Hock Lie Sunggal using the gravimetric method. The results of the analysis that has been carried out in the laboratory of PT Rubber Hock Lie, the results obtained are the levels of volatile substances in the sample, namely: 0.17%; 0.21% ; 0.21% ; 0.27% ; and 0.23%. Based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) Number 06-1903-2000 and the Indonesian Rubber Standard (SIR 20) the maximum value of the volatile substance content is 0.80%. The results of this analysis indicate that the crumb rubber samples at PT Rubber Hock Lie Sunggal meet the quality that has been set according to the Indonesian Rubber Standard (SIR 20). The low volatile matter content of crumb rubber SIR 20 is desirable in determining its quality because the lower the level of impurities contained, the better the quality of the rubber.
