The main purpose of this research is to analyze the potential of food
crops cultivated by farmers as an effort to develop the region. In addition, the
inhibiting and supporting factors in developing the potential of food crops are also
urgent to be analyzed. The analytical method used in this study uses two
analytical tools, namely Location Quotient (LQ) and Analytical Hierarchy Process
(AHP) analysis. Location Quotient (LQ) is a simpler economic development tool
with all its advantages and limitations. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which
is a decision support model that describes complex multi-factor or multi-criteria
problems into a hierarchy. The data used in this study are primary data and
secondary data. Primary data were obtained through filling out questionnaires and
interviews, filling out questionnaires and observing. While secondary data is
obtained from related agencies or agencies such as the Department of Agriculture
and Food Security, Southeast Aceh Regency. The results of the Location Quotient
(LQ) calculation from the agricultural sector data show that there are seven
sectors which are the base sector, while the other seven sectors are non-base
sectors. The agricultural sector which is the basic sector is rice, tubers,
meat,vegetables, nuts, fruits, oil and coconut. The results of the AHP analysis
show thatthe criteria that become a priority in the development of food crops in
Southeast Aceh Regency are the criteria for the marketing and processing
subsystem with a priority weight value of 0.582. The marketing and processing
subsystem is also known as the downstream agribusiness subsystem, which is a
system for marketing and processing agricultural commodity products. The
criteria for the subsystem of providing production facilities have the lowest weight
value in the context of developing Food Crops in Southeast Aceh Regency, which
is indicated by a priority weight value of 0.075, because production facilities are
easily obtained by farmers to cultivate food crops, either from the entrepreneur or
existing agricultural shops. in Southeast Aceh District and also assistance from the
local government.
