| dc.description.abstract | Indonesia has the world's largest mangrove forest, covering 3.2 million hectares,
or 22.6% of all mangrove forests, and the results of updating the National
Mangrove Map in 2021 are 3,364,080 hectares. One of the mangrove ecosystems
in Wonosari Village, Panai Hilir, Labuhanbatu Regency is being studied to
determine the density distribution and establishment of each zone. The objective
of this research is to examine the density distribution of mangrove vegetation
between 2002 and 2022, as well as the formation of mangrove vegetation in
Wonosari Village, Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This study
employed the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index analysis with Landsat
imagery, as well as the Important Value Index analysis with vegetation analysis.
The results obtained are the density of vegetation in 2002 and 2022 which has the
largest Normalized Difference Vegetation Index area, namely in 2002 in the form
of a dense class with a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index value range of 0.3
- 0.4 with an area of 415.61 Ha or 67.23% and in 2022 in the form of a meeting
class with an area of 495.53 Ha or 80.16%. Between 2002 and 2022, the dense
vegetation density climbed by 79.92 Ha, whereas the extremely thick vegetation
density decreased by 111.80 Ha. The mangrove vegetation formation at the study
site was divided into three zones, including the open zone, which contained
Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera parviflora, and Avicennia alba. Rhizophora
mucronata and Bruguiera parviflora were discovered in the intermediate zone,
and Xylocarpus granatum, Acrostichum aureum, and Excoecaria agallocha were
discovered in the back zone, which is on the mainland. | en_US |
