| dc.description.abstract | This study discusses the background, process of determining and efforts to preserve the National Hero Dr. Ferdinan Lumban Tobing Heritage House in Sibolga as a cultural heritage building. This study also wants to reveal how the contribution of the house to society, especially in the fields of education, tourism, social, and others. The purpose of this study is to explain the background and process of designating Dr. Ferdinand Lumban Tobing's heritage house in Sibolga as a cultural heritage building, explain efforts to preserve Dr. Ferdinand Lumban Tobing's heritage house in Sibolga as a cultural heritage building, explain the contribution of the existence of Dr. Ferdinand Lumban Tobing's heritage house in Sibolga as a historical building. The method used by researchers in conducting research is to use historical methods, namely, Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, Historiography. Data sources are obtained through library research and field research. Literature study using books, documents, and reports. Field studies in the form of observations and interviews were conducted to primary and secondary resource persons. The result of this study is the background of the heritage house which was once just an ordinary building without much knowledge has now begun to be known and visited by the community and has an impact, especially in the fields of education, social, cultural, economic tourism, and others, preservation efforts involve several parties such as the role of the family who are at the forefront of efforts to preserve the house, supported by the government in preserving cultural heritage buildings as a means of several aspects of community life, and the role of the community that is needed in maintaining the preservation of the building, the contribution of the heritage house to various fields, especially in the field of education, as a means of education for students who do not know much about the house and the figure of National Hero Dr. Ferdinan Lumban Tobing who is a native son of the Tapanuli area. Other contributions have an impact in the socio-cultural fields as well as tourism and economy which have an impact on the interests of the surrounding community and also have an impact on entrepreneurs who open businesses around the house. | en_US |
