Analisis Fungsi Musik Liturgi pada Perayaan Ekaristi Gereja Katolik St. Elisabeth Stabat Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

Title of this paper is analysis of the functions of liturgical music in the eucharistic celebration of the catholic church of St. Elisabeth Stabat, langkat district; to find out more about liturgical music, especially in the Catholic church of st. Elisabeth Stabat.The next purpose are to know the meaning, purpose and function of liturgical music in the celebration of the eucharistic. This research uses qualitative methods besides using literature studies, interview, and documentation. Laboratory work which includes discussion and analysis of data that has been obtained during the research. The results obtained from this study indicate that liturgical music is very important in eucharistic. This can be seen from the function and goals of liturgical music in the eucharistic celebration. The function are esthetic appreciation, communication media, symbolism. While, the goals of liturgical musix are decorative, unitative, differentiative, transdental, and eschatological. This study also shows that eucharistic consists of opening rites, liturgy of the word, eucharistic liturgy, and closing of rites.
