Analisis ETO (SHIO) dalam Anime “Fruits Basket” Karya Natsuki Takaya

Abstract

Eto (Shio) is something that symbolizes time, direction, angle, sequence of events, and so on using 12 kinds of animals namely rats, buffaloes/cows, tigers, rabbits, dragons, snakes, horses, sheep, monkeys, chickens, dogs, and pigs. But in Anime Fruits Basket there is an addition of one zodiac, namely the cat zodiac. This zodiac sign is considered not to be included in Buddhist legends. Eto (Shio) is a Chinese animal symbol that can be used as a benchmark to determine a person's personality, health, career, romance and association. This Fruits Basket anime shows traditional Japanese culture, which brings out many supernatural things, dwa, as well as Chinese spirits and zodiac. The approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive analysis with data collection methods through observation and documentation. This study uses psychoanalysis of personality theory to see the character and traits and interactions of each zodiac sign contained in the Fruits Basket Anime. The results of this study show that the character and nature of each Eto (zodiac) have different differences and their behavior describes a personality that suits their zodiac. As well as the interaction of each Eto (shio) in Anime Fruits Basket has a variety of different relationships ranging from good to bad, but in the end these relationships can understand each other and become good.
