dc.description.abstractThe increase in population in Indonesia is directly proportional to the demand for energy where the energy in question is petroleum.. So that alternative fuels are needed so that the need for energy sources can be fulfilled. Bioethanol serves as a substitute for fuel oil. Bioethanol itself can be obtained from biomass which contains sugar, fiber and starch which is quite high by being treated such as hydrolysis, fermentation and distillation. The use of corn stalks as the main ingredient for making bioethanol is in addition to reducing post-harvest waste from growing corn plants and corn stalks contain quite high cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of acid volume on the glucose level produced and to determine the level of ethanol produced based on variations in fermentation time. The results showed that the highest average glucose level was found in 600 mL HCl volume of 10.95% while the lowest average glucose level was in 700 mL HCl volume of 7.2%. The highest average ethanol content was produced on the fifth day of fermentation with a volume of 600 mL of 7.53% and the lowest average ethanol content on the seventh day of fermentation with a volume of 700 mL was 5.75%. With this it can be concluded that the higher the volume of acid given, the lower the glucose level produced and vice versa and the highest percentage of ethanol content was found in the fifth day of fermentation with a volume of 600 mL of 7.53%.en_US
