dc.description.abstractThe Belawan Gabion Fish Landing Place (TPI) is located at Belawan Ocean Fishing Port. One of the main catches of fish at the Belawan Gabion Fish Landing Site is kurisi fish (Nemipterus japonicus). This fish is one of the important economic value fish of the tribeNemipteridaewhich has a high fishing intensity due to continuous fishing so that it is feared that it will reduce the stock of kurisi fish in the waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and exploitation rate of kurisi fish. This research was carried out directly at TPI Gabion Belawan for sampling while measurements of length and weight and dissection of kurisi fish were carried out at the researcher's residence. The results showed that the chairs landed at TPI Belawan gabion had a negative allometric growth pattern, namely: growth in length was more dominant than growth in weight. Kurisi fish exploitation rate (Nemipterus japonicus) has an average value of 0.81 with exploitation statusgrowth overfishing because of the Lc < Lmen_US
