Gambaran Job Hopping Pada Karyawan Generasi Milenial

Abstract

Competition in the world of work is very tight, giving rise to various phenomena that attract the attention of workers, namely the phenomenon of shifting behavior from one job to another in a short period of time. This phenomenon, in industrial and organizational psychology is called job hopping. Job hopping is the behavior of employees who frequently change jobs from one job to another in hopes of career advancement and increased income. This study aims to see an overview of job hopping among millennial generation employees and is reviewed based on the characteristics of Yuen (2016). The research subjects were 96 millennial generation employees who were taken using purposive sampling with the type of total sampling, namely a sampling technique that makes all members of the population as research samples (Sugiyono, 2019). This research uses quantitative research methods with descriptive research types. The measuring instrument used is a Likert scale, namely the job hopping intention scale which was developed based on the characteristics of Yuen (2016). The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis. The research results obtained that the proportion categorization on the variable characteristics of job hopping is in the high category.
