Research Analysis of Prey Predators of Sardinella spp. using the Eating
Habits Test at Tempat Pendaratan Ikan Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang Regency, North
Sumatra Province, it was carried out in September - November 2022. The purpose
of this study was to determine the food habits and prey levels of Sardinella spp.
landed at TPI Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The
method used in this research is purposive sampling method with sampling once per
month. The number of fish samples obtained were 209 S. gibbosa fish while 150
S. fimbriata fish samples. Sardinella spp. belongs to the omnivorous fish tend to be
herbivores. Where the S gibbosa fish utilizes phytoplankton as the main food while
molluscs, worms, leaf pieces as complementary food and zooplankton as additional
food. While the fish S. fimbriata utilize phytoplankton and molluscs as the main
food while worms, shrimp as complementary food while zooplankton and plant
fragments as additional food. S. gibbosa and S. fimbriata fish are included in the
same prey predator level which is included in the moderately competitive fish
relationship because they have the same main food and have overlapping values
with moderate criteria
