dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the types of imperative pragmatic politeness, the forms of imperative pragmatic politeness, and the markers of imperative pragmatic politeness in Malay at Tanjungbalai 1 Public Middle School, Karya Village, Tanjungbalai District, North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative approach. The method used for data collection is the observation method, the interview method (note and record), the library method and the descriptive method used to analyze the data. The primary data in this study is speech in Malay at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai. This study uses imperative pragmatic politeness theory in the form of imperative pragmatic politeness types, imperative pragmatic politeness forms, and imperative pragmatic politeness markers. The results of this study indicate that imperative pragmatic politeness in Malay at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai uses indirect speech which is more polite than direct speech. Imperative pragmatic politeness used in Malay at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai includes 11 types of imperative pragmatic politeness. The form of imperative politeness in Malay at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai is found in declarative and interrogative utterances. Imperative pragmatic politeness markers in Malay at Tanjungbalai 1 Public Middle School are found in 8 imperative pragmatic politeness markers using direct speech.. | en_US |
