This research in respect of the analysis of DNA barcoding in butterfly
stingrays (Gymnura sp.) which was landed in TPI Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang
Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out molecular genetic
identification and phylogenetic analysis of butterfly stingrays landed in TPI, Deli
Serdang Regency. This study used the DNA barcoding method by taking samples
and sample analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of the Indonesian Biology
Generation Foundation, Biology and Molecular Division, East Java. The results of
molecular identification in sample 1 and sample 2 are species of Gymnura
poecilura with Total Score 669, Query cover 100%, E-Value 0.0, per. Ident
92.44% and sample 2 with Total Score 860, Query cover 100%, E-Value 0.0, per.
Identities 99.78%. The fish sample studied has a close kinship with the resulting
outgroup which has the closest genetic distance of 0.0793 where the calculation of
genetic distance is by determining proximity with a numeric number 0-1, with the
provision that the closer to 0 the closer the genetic distance.
