Penggunaan Filter Sulfur dan Kerak Boiler Serta Penambahan Faba Dalam Produksi Biogas dari Limbah Cair Pabrik Kelapa Sawit untuk Menghasilkan Listrik
Abstract
Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil exporting countries in the world,
with liquid waste as a by-product from the palm oil processing process. This
waste, if left unchecked, will cause environmental pollution. Palm oil liquid waste
can be used to produce biogas which can be converted into electricity for use as a
basic human need. The quantity of biogas can be maximized by adding FABA,
while the quality of converting biogas to electricity can be improved by using
filters. This study used the Non-Factorial (RAL) method. The parameters studied
were temperature, pH, biogas volume, biogas velocity, electrical power, generator
rotational speed, and flame. The results showed that the digester temperature
affects the activity in the digester, the pH during fermentation will decrease
indicating that the biogas production process is carried out by the bacteria present
in the fermentation. The volume of biogas at the time of the study was 70.519,167
cm3 with a biogas velocity of 4.872,233 cm3
. In the electric power analysis, the
highest electric power was obtained by using a sulfur filter of 242 watts, the
average value was 176 watts. The highest rotational speed in this study was
obtained by using a sulfur filter of 290,4 rpm, the average value was obtained,
using a boiler scale filter obtained an average value of 202,4 rpm, and using a
combination of sulfur and boiler scale filters obtained an average value of
211,2rpm. The flame test in this study showed a purplish-blue color, this indicates
that the biogas contains methane gas.
