dc.description.abstract | This study discusses the Sekolah Pendidikan Guru (SPG) Negeri Sidikalang in 1967-1990. The purpose of this thesis is to explain the history of the founding of the Sekolah Pendidikan Guru (SPG) Negeri Sidikalang in 1967; the development of the Sekolah Pendidikan Guru (SPG) Negeri Sidikalang in 1967-1990; and the factors causing the Sekolah Pendidikan Guru (SPG) Negeri Sidikalang to be closed in 1990. This research used historical methods, namely heuristics (source gathering) in the form of school archives and interviews with parties related to the school such as teachers, staff, and alumni. This research also used secondary sources such as books, journals, and other scientific works related to the research topic. After collecting data, the next step is verification, interpretation, and the final stage is historiography, namely writing historical facts. The results of this study found that SPG Negeri Sidikalang was the only teacher education school in Kabupaten Dairi and was under the auspices of the government which was opened in 1967. This school produced graduates who could immediately work as elementary school teachers and succeeded in meeting the urgent needs of teachers in Kabupaten Dairi in the early days of independence. SPG Negeri Sidikalang was closed because this school has produced a large number of elementary school teachers and the government's efforts to improve the quality of education and the quality of elementary school teachers. During conducting this research the authors experienced challenges such as limited data. This research was limited until 1990 because in that year the SPG Negeri Sidikalang was closed and transferred to a Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). | en_US |
