Analisis Komparatif Fungsi Taiko di Jepang dan Rapa'i di Aceh
Abstract
This study discusses the comparative analysis of the function of traditional musical
instrument Japanese Taiko and Acehnese Rapa'i. This study aims to comprehend
the functions and the comparative of Japanese Taiko and Acehnese Rapa'i
traditional musical instruments. In this study used a qualitative descriptive method
and literature study. The data is compiled from literature studies which are books,
journals, websites, articles, and images as data visualization. The results of this
study conclude that the Japanese Taiko functions as a musical instrument for ritual
accompaniment, singing and dance accompaniment, communication tools during
wartime, and performance show instruments. Subsequently, Acehnese Rapa’i
utilizes as musical accompaniment for religious poetry, musical entertainment
instruments, and tools to stop wars. The similarities of both musical instruments are
utilized as entertainment and performance show instrument, singing and dance
accompaniment, and communication tools during wartime. On the other hand, the
differences of both musical instruments are shape, use, and differences in type
grouping.
