Evaluasi Penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen dengan Menggunakan Metode Pieces pada Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The research is conducted in the Library of the Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. The objective of the research is to evaluate the management information system of the library, using PIECES (Performance, Information and Data, Economics, Control and Security Efficiency Service) in the Library of UINSU. The research uses descriptive qualitative method, using interview and observation approach. The result of the research shows that the management information system of the library used Digilib by Gammatechno application system. Viewed from its application, it is found that its performance is not maximal in carrying out the intended order so that the inaccurate information should be updated because the data recorded in the circulation department sometimes did not appear in the system. Economically, the implementation of the library management information system can save time. Its application at UINSU is good so that the system could be changed by irresponsible people and could be used as security. Besides that, the implementation of management information system in the Library of UINSU will be more efficient, quick, and in order, the service will be easier so that the library users could easily search for getting information by using management information system and the librarians would easily serve them.
