| dc.description.abstract | The  research  aims  to  find  out  about  Mobile  Library  Service  at  the Library  Agency  of  
Binjai.  This  is  descriptive  qualitative   research  and  the informants  are  determined  by  
conducting  purposive  sampling.  The  research informants  are the section head of service, the 
section head of library material management,  the  clerk,  and  driver  of  the  mobile  library.  
Data  are  collected through observation, intervei ws, and documentation. Data are tested using 
data triangulation  namely  source  triangulation,  technique  triangulation,  and  time 
triangulation. The result indicates that the Mobile Library Service at the Library Agency of 
Binjai, according to the Guideline of Mobile Library Implementation of 2013 issued by the National 
library of the Republic  of Indonesia,  consists of 4 categories.  First,  the type  of  service  
provided  by  the  mobile  library  in  Binjai consists of circulation/borrowing service and 
references  service.  The circulation service of Binjai mobile library currently is not running and 
does not serve book lending  due  to  the  pandemic.  Secondly,   Binjai  mobile   library   has   
service programs namely the promotion of mobile library and free reading service which is conducted 
in schools during the reading service given to visitors. Thirdly, there are 2 vehicles used for 
mobile library equipped with vehicle tools such as a jack stand,  wheel chock, wheel lock, spare 
tire, medicine  box, and warning  triangle. Some  equipment  of  mobile  library  namely  
collection  shelves,  folding  chairs, loudspeakers, and fans. Lastly, type of service statistics 
of Binjai mobile Library is the statistic of library material borrowed by the librarian, number of 
visitors, and number  of  borrowers.  The  monthly  statistic  of  mobile  library  visitors  in 
2021 reaches  approximately  hundreds  of  visitors  and  during  the  year  of  2021  the number 
of mobile Library visitors reaches 4,948 people. | en_US |
