Pemanfaatan Jurnal Elektronik Database EBSCO oleh Pengguna Perpustakaan Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The objective of this research is to delve into the Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Utilization of EBSCO Electronic Journal Database by Universitas Sumatera Utara Library Users. This research is done on Jalan Perpustakaan No. 1, Padang Bulan, Kampus USU, Medan 20121, Jndonesia. it employs Descriptive Quantitative Method and takes its source data using Purposive Sampling Tenchnique. i ts data are collected through distribution of questionnaires and Library Study. The research finds that few users utilize the Library for college course activities and most of the users utilize the library for activities in the practical section of a course. The users also utilize EBSCO Journal Database as a reference to their research. It is found that they frequently screen shoot the information that they need and print out EBSCO journals. In order to obtain the desired information, the users frequently read the Abstracts only. The frequency of Users to browse EBSCO Electronic Journal Database shows that average time spent to access it is 1 to 2 hours. The facilities provided by USU Library are often well utilized by its users to access EBSCO Journal Database. The obstacle that is still encountered in utilizing Electronic Journal is the use of foreign languages when searching references.
