Hubungan Peran Pengawas Minum Obat (PMO) terhadap Peningkatan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Tuberkulosis

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB), as an infectious disease, is thought to potentially impair the quality of life, particularly in terms of physical and mental health. As a result, the role of Medication Supervisor is critical to help TB patients take their medication on a regular basis, and receive complete treatment. The research investigates how the role of Medication supervisor (PMO) affects the e quality of life of tuberculosis patients. This quantitative research with a correlational design carries out purposive sampling to select 40 tuberculosis patients who meet both inclusive criteria and the quality-of-life instrument, the SF-36 Quality of Life Questionnaire. Chi-Square test is then employed to analyze all of the data. The study finds that 29 people (72.5%) believe that the Medication Supervisor plays an active role. Majority of the respondents viewed from physical health, 33 people (82.5%), have poor life quality, and 26 people (65%), viewed from the overall life quality aspects, have good life quality. The Asym Sig value for the Chi-Square statistical test is 0.035. It implies that the Medication Supervisor plays an important role in the day-to- day treatment of TB patients to improve their health and life quality. This research finds a significant correlation between the roles of Medication Supervisor in improving the life quality of tuberculosis patients.
