Perancangan Sistem Informasi Adat Istiadat Karo Berbasis Website

Abstract

Karo is one of the Tribes that inhabit the Karo Highlands, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This tribe is one of the largest tribes in North Sumatra. The name of this tribe is used as one of the regency names in one of the areas where they live in the Karo highlands, namely Tanah Karo. This tribe has its own language which is called Karo or Cakap Karo. The Karo tribe has a social or cultural system known as merga silima, said siwaluh, and rakut sitelu. Merga is said for men, while for women it is called Beru. Merga or beru is carried behind a person's name. Merga in the Karo community consists of five clusters, which are called Merga Silima. The five clans are Karo-Karo, Tarigan, Ginting, Perjuanganin-angin, Sembiring. These five genera have their own submerga. The total of all submerga is 84. There is a lot of information from the digital world that can be utilized in various fields, one of which is a web application, in this case what is trying to be developed in the project for submitting the title of this Final Project is the Design of a Website-Based Karo Customary Information System. This website was designed as a development of information media on Karo customs. This information system was built with PHP programming and database management using MySQL.
