Objective study this for analyzing the effect of cage density, addition of fans
and selenium on cage climate (temperature, humidity and ammonia levels),
physiological response (respiratory frequency and rectal temperature) and
performance (feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and
feed conversion) of ducks. Study carried out in the Animal Husbandry Study
Progam stable Faculty Agiculture University of North Sumatra and Laboratory
Biomedical University Andalas on month June-August 2022. Parameters observed
is consumption feed , consumption of drinking water , increase weight body ,
conversion ration , temperature rectal , frequency respiration , temperature cage ,
humidity dang , rate _ ammonia And rate hormone corticosterone .
Duck used _ on study This 144 heads (unsex). Draft test use Split split plot
design (plot plot divide) consists on 3 factors, viz factor plot main that is No use fan
(F1) and use fan (F2). Factor child plot that is No using selenium (S1) and using
selenium (S2). Factor child child plot that is density cage, D1 (3 heads /0,5m2
), D2
(4 heads /0,5m2
), D3 (5 heads/0,5m2
) and every treatment shared over 3 goups
based on weight body early. Selenium (Se) was applied through fee. Obtained data
analyzed use Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if happen real difference _ on level of
0.05% is continued with Duncan's test.
Results study show that factor plot main (use fan) factor child plot (Selenium
use), factor child child plot (density cage) effect to performance and climatic cage.
Influence interaction happen on interaction between fan and selenium against rate
hormone costicosterone fan And density to increase weight body, conversion feed,
temperature And humidity pen as well as rate ammonia. Interaction between
selenium and density pen to rate hormone corticosterone. Treatment best on
treatment use fan and use of selenium with density 4 heads /0.5m2
