Persepsi Mahasiswa Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi Universitas Sumatera Utara terhadap Profesi Infopreneur

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify perception of the students in Library and Information Science Program, Universitas Sumatera Utara, about infopreneur profession. This descriptive quantitative research employs total sampling technique to select a sample size of 63 students of Library and Information Science of USU in class of 2018. To analyse the data, questionnaires with a descriptive analysis are distributed. This research finds that the student’s perception about the initial knowledge related to infopreneur profession at Library and Informatics Science is 70.9%, the understanding of infopreneur profession is 82.2%, and the evaluation of infopreneur profession is 77.2%. As a result, the average score is 76.8%. This number indicates that the perception of LIS USU students on infopreneur profession is categorized satisfactory. In the future, this research will be a reference to design and to develop curriculum on professions in Indonesia. It can also be a reference for further studies.
