dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the story of Panglima Layar which is found in the
Rokan Hilir area of Riau Province, to find out the intrinsic elements in the story
and describe the moral values contained in it. This study uses descriptive
qualitative methods and data collection techniques through interviews with
informants. The data is analyzed to look for intrinsic elements in it such as theme,
plot, setting, characters and characterizations, and mandate, while the moral
values contained therein have three forms of moral values, namely the moral
values of human relations with oneself, the moral values of human relations with
other human beings, and the moral value of the human relationship with God. The
results of this research found that the Panglima Layar story was taken directly
from the original source in an oral form using the Riau Coastal Malay language,
then translated into Indonesian, and the intrinsic elements contained in the story
were the theme (the power struggle of Jemur Island), plot (mixture of ), setting of
the place (pier, kingdom, Kubu district, and jemur island), setting of atmosphere
(happy, sad, tense, and gripping), characters and characterizations of Panglima
screen (arrogant), Daeng Fungeng (persistent, helpful), Sultan Siak (wise), Datuk
Aru (good), Garut Narusi (arrogant). The moral values contained in the Panglima
Layar story contain three forms of moral values, namely, the moral values of
human relations with oneself; insecure, selfish, polite, regret, loneliness, selfconfidence,
anger, fear, and revenge. The moral value of human relations with
other humans; appreciative, humble, arrogant, helping others, obedient, kind,
betrayal, and robbing. Human relationship with God namely; pray to God. | en_US |
