    Abstract
This research is about the Economic Life of the Central Java Transmigrant Community in Suka Makmur Village. The purpose of writing this thesis is to explain the background of the Central Javanese transmigrants to Suka Makmur Village, Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency in 1986. The process of transmigrating Central Javanese people to Suka Makmur Village, Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency in 1986 –2000. Describes the life of the Central Javanese transmigrants in Suka Makmur Village, Sungai Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency in 1986 – 2000. In collecting data, this study used library research and field studies methods. Library studies use literature in the form of books in the library of the University of North Sumatra, Jambi Regional Library. In the field study, the authors made observations at the location and conducted interviews with informants. From this research, the results were obtained in the form of information which could be concluded that the transmigration program in Suka Makmur Village was transmigration carried out by the government and PTPN VI Sungai Bahar Muaro Jambi. People who wish to participate in transmigration must first submit important letters to the local sub-district. The transmigration of the people of Central Java to Suka Makmur Village was said to have been successful, because the life of the Central Javanese transmigrant community was progressing in Suka Makmur Village, very different from the initial life of the people before joining the transmigration. Even though the initial stages of transmigration in early 1986 were considered very difficult, because the community started their life from scratch, such as working as laborers at PTPN, and had enough to live on with limited funds, so some people chose to return to their hometowns and sell transmigration land. However, transmigrant people who survive on average have a prosperous life, own land, children can continue their education and a stable economic life makes transmigrant people feel at home living in Suka Makmur Village.
