| dc.description.abstract | The writing of this paper was carried out at the Library of the University of North Sumatra. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the use of short loan collections (KPS) held at the University of North Sumatra Library. Collection use is the number of borrowed and borrowed collections and is usually used as a source to determine the effectiveness of the library. The methods used in writing are library research, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the writing can be concluded that there are 4 ways to assess the usability of the available collection of literature materials that have been adjusted to the needs of users and services at the North Sumatra University Library KPS, including providing information that can be borrowed, providing the required information that can be read, providing information that can be researched as well as reviewed the contents by the user, the information is disseminated to the user. The Library of the University of North Sumatra in the Short Loan Collection (KPS) section still empowers the use of collections of library materials to date by borrowing collections to read and study their contents, the emergence of covid-19 in early 2020 had stopped all use, but at the beginning of 2022 it has returned operate. | en_US |
