A Description of Peutron Aneuk Tradition in Acehnese Culture

Abstract

This paper describes the process of the Peutron Aneuk ritual. This paper aims to introduce Aceh traditional cultural traditions regarding the descent ceremony for newborns. In writing this paper, the method used is descriptive qualitative to obtain certain data by looking for some related books description of Peutron Aneuk. Then, the writer conducts interviews with several people who understand the Peutron Aneuk tradition, then describes it. The ritual process carried out is peusijuk, peucicap, cuko ok, geuboh nan, then peutron aneuk. The meaning of the Peutron Aneuk ritual has a positive impact with good wishes for the child and for the community because it contains religious, social, cultural values, behavior and customs.
