Diverse cultures have made a major contribution in shaping the traditions of society. This includes the famous Ngampaken tulan-tulan tradition which is preserved by the Karo people. The purpose of this discussion is to know and understand: What are the steps in the Ngampaken Tulan-tulan tradition and what does the Ngampaken Tulan-tulan tradition mean. The data from this discussion is a form of Karo community tradition. The writing method used in this discussion uses descriptive descriptive research from books, the internet and the Karo cultural community. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that there was a tradition of Ngampaken tulan-tulan, namely a ceremony to take the skull bones and skeletons of the ancestors to be placed in a better home cemetery or grave. This was a way to elevate the status of the ancestors (who removed the carcasses) and to take the skulls and skeletons of the ancestors to be placed in a better home cemetery or grave.
