dc.description.abstract | This paper discusses the types of moral values and determine which one is very dominant through characters in the novel Life of Pi. There are eight types of moral values namely, justice, wisdom, courage, self-control, brotherly love, trust and faith, love of the remote, and lastly the values of social intercourse. Besides, that the dominant type of moral value is Trust and Faith. The writer used moral values theoretically to describe them using Hartmann’s Theories. The writer used qualitative research methods in terms of selecting and interpreting and finally describing data that concerns with moral types selected through the texts of the novel. Those data are in the form of words, sentence or even paragraph in the form of quotations. It can be stated that moral values are standard behavior in order to sustain life stronger in good manner. Meanwhile the Trust and Faith are supposed to be the highest standard in running life meaning in its acceptable manner for human beings. | en_US |
