| dc.description.abstract | This Final Project is entitled "Comparison of Shinto Weddings in Japan with
Minangkabau Weddings in Indonesia". This final project aims to get to know and
add to the knowledge of writers and Japanese language learners in Indonesia
regarding Shinto wedding rituals in Japan, as well as wedding ritual ceremonies in
the Minangkabau community in Indonesia. Sources of data used in this study were
obtained from several books related to the research theme above. The research
method used is descriptive qualitative based on book literature and literature
studies from various sources, both print and electronic. The results of the study
show that there are similarities and differences in Shinto wedding rituals for
people in Japan and Minangkabau wedding rituals for people in Indonesia. In
Shintou marriages, which are based on animism and the worship of natural spirits
which involve rituals such as pouring sake and tying the cloth, while those in
Minangkabau are influenced by Islam and follow a matrilineal kinship system
which includes the balakai custom, the juxtaposition custom, and the Balimau
custom. The wedding ritual ceremony in Japanese society and Minangkabau
society has the same meaning, namely that both emphasize the importance of
tradition, family values and customs. | en_US |
