Vocabulary in Japanese is often called goi. Goi in Japanese there are three types namely wago, kango, and gairaigo. Apart from these three types of goi, there is another type of vocabulary called konshugo. Of the four types of goi, gairaigo has characteristics that set it apart from other types of goi. usage of gairaigo in Japan is increasing. This is caused by several factors, for example there is no native Japanese equivalent to describe something or objects that come from outside cultures. The problem with this writing is that gairaigo has an original Japanese equivalent and does not have an original Japanese equivalent. The writer aims to find out which gairaigo has the original Japanese equivalent and find out which gairaigo does not have the original Japanese equivalent. Writing uses library techniques where the source of writing data is the novel Goodbye Tsugumi, language books, journals, and various written references found on the internet. The object of this writing is gairaigo in the collection of nouns, verbs and adjectives gairaigo which have native Japanese equivalents and those which do not have native Japanese equivalents. The gairaigo results obtained are one hundred and sixty-three words, namely sixty-five nouns, five verbs and four adjectives which have original Japanese equivalents and eighty-seven nouns, one verb and one data adjective fruit that has no native Japanese equivalent.en_US
