The function of the water of life cannot be replaced by other compounds. There is seldom or there may not be pure water available in nature. Various substances, both organic and inorganic, both soluble and insoluble, are usually present in water. Most of the water available in nature is not pure water nor is it healthy to drink, so in general water in nature cannot be drunk directly. This study aims to determine and analyze chloride levels in samples of drinking water and river water and compare them with established quality standards. The method used in this research is argentometric titration (Mohr method). The results of chloride analysis of samples of drinking water and river water with codes 243, 224 were 0.9997 mg/L and 300 mg/L respectively. The chloride levels obtained were stated to still meet the quality standard requirements according to PERMENKES NO 429/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 concerning drinking water with a maximum limit of 250 mg/L and PERMENKES NO 22/MENKES/PER/2021 concerning river water with a maximum limit 300 mg/l.en_US
