Oil palm is a plant with high economic value because it is one of the vegetable oil-producing plants. Palm oil contains quite high carotenoids. Carotenoids are pigments that produce a red color. DOBI is one of the parameters to measure the level of oil damage caused by oxidation. Determination of DOBI and beta carotene levels was carried out by UV-Visible Spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 269 nm and 446 nm. Where in determining the DOBI content, the results obtained were that CPO in sample A was 2.36 ppm and CPO in sample B was 3.18 ppm. Based on the results of research on DOBI levels in both samples, they met the quality standards set by the Palm Oil Refiners Association Of Malaysia (PORAM). Meanwhile, the beta carotene content obtained from CPO sample A was 525.64 ppm and CPO sample B was 447.66 ppm. Based on the results of this study, the beta carotene content in CPO sample A met the quality standards set by the Palm Oil Refiners Associaton Of Malaysia PORAM, while the CPO sample B did not meet the quality standards set by the Palm Oil Refiners Associaton Of Malaysia PORAM.en_US
