Perbedaan Besar Sudut Gonial Mandibula pada Penderita Kehilangan Gigi Sebagian Berdasarkan Jenis Kelamin pada Suku Batak Ditinjau Menggunakan Radiografi Panoramik
Abstract
Panoramic radiography is one of the radiographic techniques that produces images showing facial structures including mandibles and maxilla along with the supporting structures. Changes in the mandibular gonial angle can be affected by tooth loss. This study aims to determine the difference in the gonial angle of the mandible reviewed by panoramic radiography between full dentate patients and partial tooth loss patients based on gender in the Bataknese. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling in the form of primary data with a total of 60 Bataknese samples divided into 30 panoramic radiographs of partial tooth loss patients and 30 panoramic radiographs of full dentate patients (control group). The data are processed and analyzed using independent T tests. The results showed that the mean value of the mandibular gonial angle in women was greater than that of men in both the control and partial tooth loss groups. The conclusion of the study was that the mean value of the gonial angle of the mandible in patients with partial tooth loss was 120,114° in men and 123,785° in women. The significance test obtained a value of p >0.05 which showed that there was an insignificant difference in the gonial angle of the mandible in patients with partial tooth loss based on gender in the Bataknese reviewed using panoramic radiography.
