Perbedaan Ketinggian Ramus dan Kondilus Mandibula pada Penderita Kehilangan Gigi Sebagian Berdasarkan Jenis Kelamin pada Suku Batak Ditinjau Menggunakan Radiografi Panoramik
Abstract
Panoramic radiography has been widely used to measure the morphology of mandibles that undergo changes as a result of tooth loss, including the ramus and condylar heights. This study aims to determine the difference in the average height of the mandibular ramus and condyles in Bataknese patients with partial tooth loss based on gender reviewed using panoramic radiography. The samples are taken with a purposive sampling technique in the form of primary data with a total of 60 samples, namely 30 panoramic radiographs of patients with partial tooth loss and 30 panoramic radiographs of full dentate patients (control group). The results of the normality test, the data are normally distributed and they are analysed using independent T-test. The results showed that the height of the ramus and condyle is greater in males than females, both in the control group and in patients with partial tooth loss. The study concludes that the average height of ramus in patients with partial tooth loss is 50,518 mm in males and 46,244 mm in females. The average height of condyles in patients with partial tooth loss is 7,806 mm in males and 7,587 mm in females. The significance test obtained a value of p<0.05 for the ramus height and p>0.05 for the condylar height. There is a significant difference in the ramus height and there is no significant difference in the condylar height of Bataknese patients with partial tooth loss between males and females reviewed using panoramic radiography.
