This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using
interviews, observation, and secondary data such as documentation, journals
and other records. Based on the results of this study, Sanggar Anak Sungai Deli
tends to use democratic parenting in helping children's character formation. In
essence, parenting is an important part of the process of internalization,
socialization and enculturation for early childhood. Because of this, parenting
becomes a process of forming the character of early childhood so that when
children grow up they become human beings who have character and can make
choices carefully and are not trapped in a life that can damage the nation's
future. This study aims to determine the parenting style of the Deli Sungai Anak
Studio as a community that focuses on shaping the character of children and to
find out the views of the surrounding community on the Deli Anak Sungai
Group Community in Environment XII, Sei Mati Village, Medan Maimun
District. In carrying out parenting, Anak Sungai Deli Studio conducts interest
and talent development programs. An emotional approach to children is the
most important thing to do so that children feel comfortable following it. And
the community's view of the Anak Sungai Deli Studio is very good because this
Studio has brought very significant changes to the children in the area with the
programs carried out in developing children's creativity in the process of
forming their character, so that the presence of the Anak Sungai Deli Studio
makes the community especially children in the area are more sensitive to
caring for the surrounding environment which is a riverside area. The author's
suggestion is that socialization is needed for young people to be able to form
communities like this in other areas, because with many children's communities
like this it will help to reduce the high rate of juvenile delinquency and help the
process of forming children's character.
