dc.description.abstract | This research took place in Bagan Asahan Village, Tanjung Balai Asahan District. The object
studied is the fishing community, especially labor fishermen. The purpose of this research is to
find out how the pattern of working relationship is established between skippers and fishing
workers in the village of Bagan Asahan. Based on this background, a problem can be identified
in this study, namely regarding how the pattern of working relationships that exist between
employers and fishing workers has an impact on the level of welfare of families of fishing
workers in meeting their daily needs. This type of research is qualitative research using
descriptive methods. Data collection is done by literature study, observation, interviews, and
documentation. The results of research and observation of research subjects found the fact that:
(1) The pattern of working relationship that exists between employers and fishing workers is a
patron-client relationship that forms a pattern of interconnectedness and need for one another. (2)
Based on the level of welfare indicators, it shows that fishing communities, especially fishing
workers in Bagan Asahan Village, Tanjung Balai Asahan District, are included in the less
prosperous category. Socio-economic conditions related to education, health, housing, roads and
housing facilities are generally still at a low level. | en_US |
